Deadline looming for Whakaata Māori funding rounds

You have until 9 am Tuesday 7 February to get your proposals in for the current Whakaata Māori funding rounds. These are:

Whakaata Māori seeks proposals for content that supports the outcomes of Our Plan for Success, Te Huapae. 

The target audiences are:

  • Whānau raising children in te reo Māori (across all ages)
  • Fluent speakers
  • Active reo Māori learners
  • Rangatahi (15-24 years)

The content priorities are:

  • Factual and Unscripted Reality Series
  • Tamariki Series
  • Scripted Comedy and Drama Series
  • Series that cater to the needs and preferences of fluent speakers
  • The minimum expectation is 30% te reo Māori for all commissioned kaupapa.
  • Whakaata Māori takes a digital-first approach to all content and will prioritise reo Māori kaupapa and projects where Whakaata Māori is the primary platform.
