Greenwich Entertainment has acquired US distribution rights to the Desray Armstrong-produced drama Juniper.
Directed by first time feature director Matthew J. Saville, the film recently played at the Palm Springs Festival and has already screened at festivals including Tallinn, Edinburgh, Munich and Brisbane.
Juniper will launch in the US via Greenwich on 24 February and on home platforms on 4 April.
Filmed in New Zealand, Juniper stars Academy Award-nominated Charlotte Rampling as Ruth, a worldly former war correspondent now bored in retirement with a drinking problem and a newly fractured leg. Ruth is convalescing in her formerly estranged son’s home while also looking after her teenage grandson Sam who she has never met. Sam, unruly and recently kicked out of boarding school, is grieving from the recent death of his mother and reacts with defiance to this imperious woman he doesn’t know.
