Director, writer Tom Sainsbury is super-chuffed to see his feature film Loop Track premiere at the NZIFF. As a comedian branching out into the thriller genre, Tom finds the prospect of watching his own film with other people “horrifying” but he's excited to have his debut feature film out in the world.
"I'm used to doing comedy theatre where the feedback is clear. Loop Track is a brooding thriller so I'll be nervous the entire time about whether they'll be liking it."
He appreciates that being showcased at a Film Festival means his work will be seen by real live film buffs - not just his social media followers. He's hoping the audience will love it, but says he’ll be satisfied if he manages “to get a few laughs and scare a few people.”

As for his own NZIFF wishlist as a viewer, Tom is hoping to catch all the Kiwi films.
