Be among the next batch of filmmakers showing your efforts at Show Me Shorts 2023! The Academy Awards® qualifying festival is Aotearoa New Zealand’s leading international short film festival.
During 6-29 October 2023 Show Me Shorts will put on 100 screenings in 35 cinemas across New Zealand. The festival will also include screenings of many of the short films through its on-demand platform (these films will be geo-blocked to allow only New Zealanders to watch them).
There are nine awards up for grabs: Best NZ Film, Best International Film, Best Director, Best Editor, Best Screenplay, Best Music Video, Best Actor and the People's Choice Award.
Independent VFX studio Cause and FX is the new sponsor of the Show Me Shorts Best International Film Award. Cause and FX is also a corporate partner with WIFT NZ - it's great to see them engaging with the industry.
