We're sharing this update from Wairoa Māori Film Festival organiser Leo Koziol. It's wonderful to know that the Festival will be going ahead again this year - we look forward to presenting the WIFT Mana Wāhine Award.
The Festival team was in the process of opening a new Māori film office in North Clyde at Te Ataarangi language school when it was badly flooded. Nuhaka's Kahungunu Marae, where the Festival is held, was also flooded, but not so badly.
Fortunately the Gaiety Theatre was untouched.
