Lever's short to world premiere in London

We’re wishing bon voyage and all the best to director Louise Lever whose short film Joey’s Heart has been selected to World Premiere at the BFI Flare: London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival.

The Festival runs from 15-26 March 2023 and Louise will be attending the 19 March screening to introduce her work at BFI Southbank.

WIFT NZ members populated some of the cast and crew: Bayley Broome-Peake was the film’s DOP, while Renee Sheridan plays Joey’s best friend, and Tom Sainsbury is Joey’s boss.

Joey’s Heart stars Angela Bloomfield as Joey, a self-described ‘gay Bridget Jones’ who thinks she’ll never find her special someone. Tired of being the lonely singleton at parties, she meets Alice at the local community laughter club, perhaps her luck is about to change?

And don't miss the special International Women's Day screening of Louise's documentary Revolt She Said, Sunday 12 March at 7:15pm, at The Lido, 427 Manukau Road, Epsom, Auckland.
