Calling all women in camera!

The NZCS invites you to hear renowned Australian cinematographer, Erika Addis, share her experiences, particularly in equity, diversity and inclusivity.

In 2022, cinematographer Erika Addis became the first woman National President of the ACS, and is the current Australian Cinematographers Society National President.

Erika is widely recognised for her work behind the camera and in the classroom, and, in an area still heavily dominated by men, she has been a trailblazer and mentor for women in camera for some 40 plus years.

Erika and a panel will discuss A Wider Lens - the comprehensive report on diversity in the Australian film industry and the moves the NZCS is making locally to redress the balance as a long-term goal. You can check out a short film about the survey here.

They will also discuss Credit Maker, the scheme funded by Screen Australia that supports paid mentorships on a TV series for a mid-level woman cinematographer who then gets to shoot an entire episode of a 6-8 episode series.

Date: 13 May 2023
