Homai te paki paki for Celia Jaspers whose comic adventure short has been selected to screen at the Dances With Films festival in Los Angeles in June.
Directed, written, and produced by Celia, The Polycees was chosen as one of the festival's 250 finalists.
The family friendly film explores what happens when Lee, the daughter of New Zealand’s new Prime Minister discovers a dynasty of amusing—and highly rebellious—puppet creatures living under the Beehive. It falls to Lee and Spoo, a cheeky puppet creature, to keep the bustling secret network of Polycees under wraps while ensuring her dad’s position is safe from the slimy Deputy PM who wants his job.
Written and directed by Jaspers, the film is developed jointly with Scott Hindman and is a new incarnation of a concept originally developed for a TV drama.
The Polycees will have its World Premiere at Nenah Children’s Film Festival in Ireland on 6 June.
