This fly-on-the-wall documentary about the busiest two years in the life of pink-haired microbiologist, Siouxsie Wiles, has been described by reviewer Graeme Tuckett as a “lean, lucid, joyful, angering and essential film”.
Siouxsie, who was ubiquitous on New Zealand TV during the COVID-19 pandemic, is the subject of director Gwen Isaac’s time capsule of the NZ experience of our interesting times.
Produced by Gwen, Alex Reed and Phillida Perry, the film screened at this year's New Zealand International Film Festival.
Typically, NZ films in NZ cinemas are given their first week to prove themselves - so going early gives a film the best chance to succeed. This cinema attendance encourages exhibitors to stick with the film, and encourages them to keep putting local films into their cinemas.
If you missed the film that everyone is (still) talking about, be sure to grab a seat at a cinema near you!
