AIF Podcast, brought to you in collaboration with Day One Hāpai te Haeata, is a fortnightly podcast featuring interviews with filmmaking creatives from around the screen sector in Aotearoa. They aim to share knowledge, insight and expertise to help inspire local filmmakers to pick up a camera and get out there producing independent films.
At a time when the tools and resources to make fully realised feature length and short films are in the hands of more people than ever, the future of New Zealand film is self-funded and independent. The Aotearoa Independent Film Podcast aims to educate and inspire you to make your project and stop waiting for permission or external support from established gatekeepers.
In the very first episode of the Podcast they talk with Anna Rose Duckworth about her experiences as the Director of Day One, helping young kiwi filmmakers make a start in the screen production sector. Additionally, she shares her key learning experiences from years working as a director and and her previous production work.
You can listen and subscribe via the official AIF Substack below to keep up to date with all news and announcements from Aotearoa Independent Film, including screening event info, live filmmaker Q&As and new podcast episodes.
