The days of a movie being a 'box office flop' is being redefined with streamers, according to a studying of Netflix films. The study found that there are films that failed at the box office but have been hits on Netflix, usually some years later.
"Netflix has begun to release weekly reports that rank the top 10 movies on the platform by views. Surprisingly, many of the films that end up on this list are older titles that have found their way into the spotlight after having flopped upon their initial release. This is further evidence that success and failure at the box office depend on entirely different factors than with streaming."
