Whakaata Māori is seeking proposals for kaupapa that support the outcomes of Te Tauākī Whakamaunga Atu, our Statement of Intent 2023 - 2026. Their primary focus is on funding production-ready kaupapa that are <$400k. Content development applications that are <$30k will be considered.
Their target audiences are:
- Ngā Whānau Reo Māori
- Te Hunga Rangatahi Reo Māori (15 - 24 years)
- Te Hunga Ako i te Reo me ngā Tikanga Māori
- Te Hunga Matatau ki te Reo Māori (including Te Hunga Tamariki Reo Māori)
The outcomes are:
- Apataki - Aotearoa engages with our content and values te reo me ngā tikanga Māori as part of our national identity
- Rūmaki Reo - Create opportunities for te reo Māori immersion
- Hononga - Increase connection to te ao Māori
The minimum expectation for all kaupapa supported through commissioning is 30% te reo Māori.
