TE ARA, the path

TE ARA the path, directed by Alexis Smith and produced by Alex Reed, won Best Adventure Short at Boulder International Film Festival in Colorado USA, last month!

“There was an auditorium of 500 people whooping and cheering for our little Kiwi doco and I was fortunate enough to be there to pick up the award (with the likes of Laura Linney picking up another award). It was a very special experience!” - Alexis

The documentary follows two wāhine toa - Holly Beckham (on her road of recovery from addiction and the goal of becoming the first Māori woman to climb Everest) and Lydia Brady (the first woman to ever climb Everest without Oxygen).
