We are thrilled to share this new comedy youth series is on its way to TVNZ+ produced by WIFT member Joyce Wong. Camp Be Better marks her first (but not last) scripted series ticked off the bucket list! Many WIFT members were part of the production including Isla Macleod (Line Producer), Hayley Felise (Production Manager) and Madilyn Davidson (Art Director). The creative team comprises co-directors Hayden J. Weal and Chye-Ling Huang and is supported by executive producer Paul Yates and associate producer Tōmai Ihaia.
Joyce is incredibly excited to unleash the chaos of Camp Be Better to the world. The project from start to finish was a grueling 11 months of non-stop hustle and was very much tackled using indie filmmaking tactics.
The series follows 17-year-old outsider Niah who is surrounded by spoiled rich kids after somehow ending up at Camp Be Better, a cushy alternative to community service for the offspring of the rich and famous.
The full season of comedy series Camp Be Better starts October 10th on TVNZ+.
