Two of our members have exciting projects featured in the latest Boosted X Moana program:
Pele- Goddess of Fire, is a Hawaiian dance theatre production that is programmed to be in the Pacific Dance New Zealand Festival on 19 – 20 June at the Mangere Arts Centre. It will be the first Hawaiian hula production to be programmed in the festival. The team is led by WIFT member Aruna Kekeha Po-Ching. They are raising funds to help with the production costs. Alofa Mai, Alofa Atu is a short film that delicately explores queer love and self-discovery through a Pasifika lens. The story follows Manaia, a young woman navigating her growing feelings as she reconnects with her childhood friend Ata. This project is brought together by WIFT member Carrisse Uta'i. The teams have until Thursday, April 10, to meet their funding goals. Boosted is an all-or-nothing crowdfunding platform, meaning if they don’t reach their target, they won’t receive any funds.
