Short Film "A Son's Return Home" Needs Your Help

Here's your chance to give some fellow WIFT filmmakers a helping hand and a financial boost for their film "A Son’s Return Home", which promises to be a visually stunning, emotionally powerful historical drama about human connection.

Shortlisted for funding by the NZ Film Commission in 2022, feedback included: “…Absolutely moving, this must be made.”

"Soon after WW1, a traumatised young man named George arrives at the Banks Peninsula farmhouse of a family whose son was killed at Passchendaele. Each family member has been dealing with the devastating loss in their own way, but George’s arrival stirs up intense emotions, forcing the family to confront their feelings or risk being torn apart."

Writer/Co-producer Janine Sowerby, Director/Co-producer Kim Georgine, Associate Producer Elise Harris and 1st AD Kat Forrester and the rest of their talented and dedicated team are running their Boosted campaign to cover the usual production costs.

Although well on the way, they’d appreciate your support to hit their target of $15,000 (and exceed it if possible) by 30 September.
