Creative Power - Hamilton Workshop December 6

This is the FINAL Creative Power workshop of 2025 and is your last chance to learn more about your rights as a writer, director, editor and/or performer and how to build sustainable careers in the screen industry.

This is more than a workshop – it’s a chance to connect, learn, and be part of the movement.

The Creative Power workshop series is travelling across Aotearoa to bring together Writers, Directors, Editors and Performers to unpack the Screen Industry Workers Act (SIWA), share knowledge, and build stronger screen careers — together.

Delivered in partnership with NZWG, DEGANZ and Equity NZ, these free workshops offer the tools and insights you need to feel confident in your work and your rights.

This workshop covers:

  • Practical tools for contracts
  • The story behind SIWA – how we got here and why it matters
  • Demystifying bargaining – what it means for you
  • Discussion, questions and shared experiences
  • Followed by drinks, nibbles, and the chance to connect with your creative whānau

This session is interactive, practical, and built around connection. You'll have the space to ask questions, share stories, and link up with fellow creatives over a drink.
