Day One Hāpai te Haeata Presents "Youth Voices on Screen"

Local short films will hit library screens for Youth Week.

Day One Hāpai te Haeata is excited to present Youth Voices on Screen – a vibrant programme of short films made by young, emerging filmmakers.

It will play at Moerā Neighbourhood Hub, Te Matapihi Ki Te Ao Nui Wellington Library and Te Ao Mārama Tauranga Library on 22nd May as part of Youth Week.

The week of celebration focuses on those aged 12–24 and the value they bring to our communities. This year’s theme is Taringa whakarongo! Te reo o ngā taiohi! Our voices matter! We deserve to be heard!

Among the shorts are Lemons, directed and edited by WIFT member India Fremaux, and Taurewarewa, directed by Libby Witheford-Smith

Many of the shorts in the programme were produced by Rina Patel, Alix Whittaker and Anna Duckworth and coloured by Erin Woolhouse. Also some notable WIFT HODs; Behind the White Wall had Sofi Issak-Zade as DOP, and Wilbert Wire had Kat Forrester as Assistant Producer and 1st AD.
