Important Research into Kiwi and Australian Women who Work in Television

An important opportunity to have the work of New Zealand women working in television recognised and documented, by taking part in an Australasian research project.

Dr Jeannine Baker is an award-winning media historian at the University of Newcastle (Australia) whose research focuses on gendered labour and technology in the Australian and British media industries, especially broadcasting. She has now moved to researching women in Australian and New Zealand television production from the 1950s to the 1990s.

Dr Baker will be in New Zealand in November and is very keen to talk to kiwi women who worked in creative, editorial, technical, and production support roles in the early decades of television.

To find out more, drop her an email: Jeannine.baker@newcastle.edu.au and she will send more information.
