The 2026 New Zealand Mountain Film Festival is now open for entries, inviting storytellers from Aotearoa and around the world to share work that inspires, challenges and connects.
If your work explores adventure, environment, exploration, or the human stories shaped by wild places this festival is for you!

- Book Competition entries close 15 March
- Film Competition entries close 15 April
- Adventure Film School registrations open 1 April
Screenings
- Wānaka 19 - 23 June, 2026
- Queenstown 25 - 26 June, 2026
A total of $9500 in prize money will be awarded across categories, with the Grand Prize–winning film and Best NZ-Made Film each eligible for $2500, and the Nankervis/Bamford Award for Book of the Year, taking home $2000. The full 2026 programme, made up of competition finalists and category winners, will be announced in May.
