The NZFC will be participating in the Annecy International Animation Film Market (Mifa), running from 23-26 June 2026.
NZFC @ Mifa 2026
The New Zealand Film Commission will again be hosting a pavilion in the Exhibition Area, from 23-26 June. The pavilion will be a shared space for New Zealanders with tables available for meetings. The NZFC will also be coordinating and delivering a programme of B2B meetings and networking events focused on connecting NZ industry with co-production and other market partners.
Expression of Interest Process
If you are interested in attending Mifa, please register your expression of interest by completing the Annecy/Mifa 2026 Expression of Interest Form by 6pm, Monday 9 March 2026.
Accreditation
Mifa registration is now open and should be made via the official website.
Cost: 509€ until Tuesday 28 April 2026
From Wednesday 29 April 2026: 600€

The Filmmaker International Travel Fund – Mifa 2026 structure is focused on supporting experienced New Zealand animation filmmakers with:

Individual applications for MIFA 2026 are capped at NZ$6,500+GST.
Given the limited funding available, NZFC will not fund:
The assessment of individual Filmmaker International Travel Fund – Mifa 2026 applications will focus closely on the strength of the projects in the slate and the proposed objectives and outcomes from attending Mifa for each project. They are particularly focused on supporting applications that include at least one feature animation project on the slate. Given the anticipated competition for limited funding, they do not expect to support all applications received.

Communications
Regular updates about the NZFC presence and activities in Annecy will be provided to all New Zealanders attending the festival/market in due course. The first mailer to New Zealanders attending Mifa will be in March and will include a timeline of communications with attendees and key activities/milestones in the lead-up to Annecy/Mifa.
