Screen NZ International is seeking your feedback on the current state of New Zealand’s international screen sector. The more people who participate, the stronger the evidence they can provide to Government on the issues affecting crew, businesses and production, and the stronger the case for policy improvements that support a sustainable, globally competitive screen industry. Every response strengthens advocacy.
The results of their July 2025 survey supported advocacy for changes to the New Zealand Screen Production Rebate settings by providing evidence of the challenges facing the industry. They followed up with a further survey in March 2026, which showed that while there was more work available, confidence in the industry’s future remained subdued.
From this year onwards, the July survey will become the annual industry health check, providing a consistent benchmark to measure changes in confidence, workload, business conditions and industry sentiment over time. They will supplement this annual survey with shorter, targeted surveys throughout the year.
Your responses are completely anonymous and will be analysed alongside those of other industry participants to identify sector-wide trends. The findings will be shared with Government Ministers, agencies and other key stakeholders, and will directly inform Screen NZ International’s advocacy and policy priorities.
