The Show Me Shorts 2026 Opening Night dates have been announced, and tickets are now on sale!
The full festival programme will be revealed on Monday 14 September, with more information about the films, filmmakers and events that make up this year’s season. The Show Me Shorts team is busy behind the scenes building the festival and preparing to bring you some of the best short films from Aotearoa and around the world.
Before the festival mahi begins in October, Show Me Shorts will also be taking part in several screen industry events.

This year’s festival season will launch across the fest's major centres, with a special evening celebrating short films and the filmmakers who make them. Always among the most popular events on the Show Me Shorts calendar, the Opening Nights are a chance to come together and watch World Premieres of some of the best short films from around the world on the big screen.
