AKL: Animating Icons: Character Development & Techniques in Animation 
Join Visual Effects Society NZ (VES), Media Design School, and Visual Effects Guild of Aotearoa New Zealand (VFXG) on October 30th for an insightful discussion with industry experts Rachel Copp (Rising Sun Pictures) and Mike Glasswell (Mukpuddy). Learn about the creative processes and techniques behind iconic characters like Miss Minutes from Loki and Badjelly the Witch.

WGN: The Impact of Visual and Sound Design on Genre Filmmaking
Join the Screen Music and Sound Guild of Aotearoa New Zealand (SMSG), the Visual Effects Guild of Aotearoa New Zealand (VFXG), and Terror-Fi on November 12th at Roxy Cinema, Wellington, a must-attend event for film enthusiasts and professionals!

 Event Highlights:

  • Panel 1: Explore the role of VFX, sound, and music in genre films with industry experts like Kara Vandeleur (OHUfx), Joaquin Loyzaga (Scale Studios), Matt Lambourn (POW Studios), and award-winning composer Tom McLeod.
  • Panel 2: Get behind-the-scenes insights into the remastering of the Kiwi cult classic Black Sheep with director Jonathan King and James Partridge, founder of the Terror-Fi Film Festival.
