Day One Shorts are excited to announce the eight teams commissioned for 2026 and amonf the recipients are some top notch WIFT NZ filmmakers.
Each documentary team receives $15k and each scripted team $20k, plus development support and mentoring.

Working alongside their screen partners RNZ and Whakaata Māori, Day One has selected eight teams altogether from a strong shortlist of sixteen. This is the third year running they've funded eight teams — made possible by the generous support of NZ On Air and the New Zealand Film Commission.
