We love to watch a world-class kiwi mount the Oscar's podium and how we all CHEERED when Wellington's costume designer extraordinaire Kate Hawley's name was called out at the 98th Academy Awards!
Even more delightful, the wee curtsy from Kate as she was delivered the heavy golden man from none other than Vogue's Anna Wintour alongside actor Anne Hathaway.
Hawley will have to add a shelf to her awards cabinet after this awards season - she swept across the US and Europe scooping up a BAFTA and the Costume Guild Award among many others on her way to the BIG kahuna - an Oscar!
Her work on Del Toro's Frankenstein is peerless and quite magnificent (watch the film on Netflix to savour these glorious costumes) and she deserves every inch of that Academy Award.
