The awards show wins and nominations keep on coming for Three’s hit series Happiness.
Fresh from a big Best Supporting Actor win for Peter Hambleton at the recent New Zealand Screen Awards, the show has been announced as a finalist for Best Comedy in three major global awards:
“To be a finalist in categories that include such high-profile international series as The Studio and K-
drama Head Over Heels is slightly surreal and an incredible endorsement of the Happiness team’s
exceptional creative work,” says Harriet Crampton, Head of Drama & Comedy at producer Greenstone.
"We're absolutely thrilled to see Happiness receiving recognition globally, and we're incredibly
proud of the team at Greenstone, who brought this unique and innovative series to life,"
says Senior Director, Content - Sky Free, Matt Barthow. "It's fantastic to see the show being
acknowledged by people worldwide, and we're honoured to have been a part of creating
something so special."
London-based DCD Rights has secured a sale of the series to PBS in the United States where it will
launch nationwide on December 14th. Australian audiences can find the show on HBO Max and Season
2 is currently in pre-production.
Happiness was made with funding from New Zealand On Air, Three (Sky Free) and Cordell Jigsaw
Distribution. Produced by Greenstone TV, it was created by Kip Chapman and composer Luke Di
Somma, produced by Chapman alongside Greenstone’s Head of Drama & Comedy Harriet Crampton,
directed by Robyn Grace (The Ridge, Sweet Tooth) and stars Rebecca Gibney, Harry McNaughton and Peter Hambleton.
