Join the fab folk at Professional Lighting Services for a conversation with Tony (Spotty) Keddy from Grip HQ and Stacey Hoggard - Gaffer/Continental Generators; to showcase the Luminys SoftSun® and Lightning Strikes.
Both are advocates for the SoftSun, and you'll get to see the 100kw unit up close and personal - the largest light in the NZ Film Industry. The SoftSun is a daylight-balanced Plasma Xenon lamp that has won Oscar and Emmy Awards for technical achievements. Dimmable from 100kw down to 3kw with minimal Kelvin shift, it’s easy to rig and has output and spread comparable to 7 x 18kw Arri Max HMIs. This makes it excellent for illuminating large areas with a soft 'sun' effect or single-shadow moonlight scenes.
Its ease of rigging, huge output, and DMX dimming capability save time and money on large sets, meaning they are loved by Gaffers and Production alike.
Whether you're an experienced gaffer or new to large lights, this will be an illuminating evening!
Also on show will be the Nanlux 5000B with Parallel Beam attachment ready for a shootout with the OG Mole Beam light.
