Another accolade for young WIFT NZ filmmaker Sophie Hampson (Ngāti Huri/Raukawa), her film Washed Up was selected for imagineNATIVE this year.
Sophie wrote and directed the film, co-producing alongside Acacia Wong, another recently graduated member of WIFT.
WASHED UP: A widow’s message in a bottle washes up into the hands of an unexpected reader.

The film has already had quite the festival run this year. It has been awarded first place at the Spi Stories Film Festival in Rome, and received Best Comedy Award at the Lands End Film Festival in Australia.
It also won the Best Challenge Film, Best Script & Best Use of Prop at the Misty Flicks Film Challenge last year.
We look forward to watching were Washed Up goes next and congrats to both Sophie and Acacia!
