A Christmas cracker of a screening in Wellington

Catch Gaylene Preston's heart-warming story of her parents' lives during WWII, on the big screen tomorrow or Friday, in Wellington. Preston's film memoir, Home By Christmas, is about the survival of a marriage torn apart by the horrors of war, and is based on interviews with her father about his WWII experiences. Ed spent much of his war in an Italian POW camp (the younger Ed is played by Martin Henderson, pictured above right), while back in Greymouth, Preston's mother Tui (played by Chelsie Preston Crayford, above left), began an affair with another man. While it's not exactly a Christmas movie, it is a real cracker!
