Editing drama workshop with Peter Roberts

Here's a great opportunity for those of you interested in editing and upskilling in this area. Delve into the drama editing process with award-winning Kiwi editor Peter Roberts at this DEGNZ  workshop in April. Learn about narrative feature-length editing and dramatic storytelling and work on practical editing exercises. Roberts (pictured below) has cut a prolific range of documentaries, shorts, features and TV shows including the drama feature film The Dark Horse, documentary feature Hip Hop-eration, and the short film Dive. Recent TV credits include telemovie Jean and Australian drama Cleverman. You'll need to have basic skills in Avid to attend, and a travel allowance is available to some DEGNZ members travelling from out of town.

If your proposal writing skills need a polish, or your budgeting skills lack lustre, head to the Doc Clinic #2 on Saturday, 24 March where producers Alex Clark and Charlotte Purdy will help them shine. Doc Clinic #2 will also cover writing a strong and compelling story that draws in the audience, how to translate a film story into a written proposal, and why these skills are so important when pitching your projects. The Clinic will also cover how to set up a budget, who will read your budget overview and what points will need your attention.
