WIFT NZ would like to welcome two new staff members and one new Board member to the whanau.
Susan Wills has been with us a few weeks now and is in charge of the e-news. We're sure you've noticed that our fortnightly newsletter has become a lot sharper recently and we have Susan to thank for this. As a professional copywriter with over 13 years experience in London, Sydney and Auckland, and a Masters in Creative Writing, Susan can really help WIFT develop its own voice when it comes to communication.
Hioana Henare (Muaupoko, Ngati Raukawa, Ngati Hine) joined the WIFT NZ Board this month as a co-opted member. Hiona is an emerging Maori Writer and Director. She has spent over 15 years working in the Maori creative industries as a Producer, Director, Writer and Performer, dedicated to the development of Maori storytelling with a clear focus on the expansion of Maori Cinema and Maori Broadcasting. Hiona is the former Executive Officer of Nga Aho Whakaari, during which time she facilitated the publication of "Koatataa Maori - Maori Protocol for Film and Television" and managed the MOU signing of "Te Paepae Ataata" between Maori Filmmakers and the NZFC. We're looking forward to her input in the 2011 WIFT Awards!
The latest member to the fold is Emmy Seccombe, who will be joining us as Financial Administrator. Emmy is currently working as Executive Assistant and Financial Administrator with both The Big Idea and Lopdell House and has an in-depth working knowledge of all accounting, administrating and legislative requirements within the not-for-profit arts sector.
Welcome Susan, Hiona and Emmy! It's great to have you on board.
