Stratos Television, New Zealand's fastest growing independent free-to-air digital television service is looking for a Sales and Marketing Manager.
Stratos has plans for significant expansion as digital switch-on approaches and its immediate priority is to establish an in-house sales and marketing operation. The Network offers innovative programming and has developed an enviable reputation for having a 'can-do' attitude to customer service. Based in Grey Lynn, Auckland, the role will be hands-on and challenging, but extremely rewarding for the right person. It will involve co-ordinating both direct and agency sales, and establishing internal systems to ensure precision and accuracy.
You'll be a New Zealand resident with a minimum of 3 to 4 stable and demonstrably successful years in a sales or marketing role, ideally in broadcasting or a related industry such as advertising, media, entertainment or music. You will also have established relationships with all major advertising agencies and media buying organisations and your clients will rave about your service.
You'll be able to talk through your approach to account management, how you leverage contacts to grow revenues, how you seek out new business, and how you will turn 'differences' into market successes. Importantly Sttratos need to see that you have a real passion and understanding for niche television, and Stratos' unique market position, to grow your client base in the advertising, government and corporate sectors. There'll be a high degree of autonomy so you'll need to be self motivated, creative and persistent in pursuing business, have a strong understanding of how to use and interpret media research.
You'll also have a sparkling and engaging personality as well as the ability to establish and lead a marketing team that will deliver to targets quickly and efficiently. The salary package is negotiable but Stratos envisage a generous base salary coupled with a very achievable incentive structure.
