Filmmakers here's a chance to get in front of financiers and distributors at Cannes this year. Breaking Through The Lens is inviting submissions to pitch at its 2020 event. Ten film projects will be selected and presented at an invite-only event at the Cannes Film Festival to an audience of financiers, sales agents and distributors. The guest list is carefully chosen to include a selection of the industry's most respected private investors and companies such as Lionsgate, Headgear and Film 4. BTTL is a pioneering initiative connecting female-identifying directors to top tier financiers, a practical resource for a wide variety of women, one that is multi-cultural, intersectional and results-driven. Time to enter the Aesthetica Film Festival

Calling all filmmakers! The 2020 Aesthetica Short Film competition is now open and seeking new filmmaking talent - that's you! Celebrating its 10th anniversary, ASFF wants to hear from filmmakers pushing the boundaries of cinema. Submit your short films, feature films and VR works for consideration. ASFF accepts works across multiple genres including: advertising, animation, artists' film, comedy, dance, documentary, drama, experimental, fashion, music video and thriller. ASFF prizes include £1,000 (about $NZ2,003.50) awarded to the Best of Festival Winner, and short films that are chosen to screen may be eligible for a BAFTA award in the future.
